Ben Franklin’s Secret Trick for Relationship Success

I am so glad to have Tom Cassidy and Angela Loeb sharing their advice on relationships with us. I’ve done some of the previous “13 X4” courses, and it’s been really useful in other parts of my life. It’s a system that I feel comfortable with, and it’s a system that I know works. I’m currently in my first serious relationship, and I’m terrified that I’m going to screw it up. Now I can apply this great system towards improving how my boyfriend and I communicate with each other — because sometimes, it ain’t all that well.

As with the other courses using this system, it takes an entire year to master. It centers around 13 focus areas that you concentrate on. You do one a week, and then repeat four more times. It’s based on a concept Ben Franklin came up with, and that was a guy who knew what he was talking about. The program is conveniently broken into 13 sections, letting you know what you need to do each week. That was where I was having trouble — I figured I could apply the system to my relationship, but I had trouble coming up with the 13 “virtues” to focus on. That’s what Tom and Angela provide here. With their usual insight, they go through a series of simple concepts for you to follow. It requires some patience before you wrap your head around the system, but it all makes sense.

I credit this course with my boyfriend and I still being together. We’ve gone through a few cycles, and each time we feel closer and more open with each other. Instead of fighting, we communicate and keep each other in mind. I only hope it helps your relationship as much as it has ours.
