Body Language, It Might Be the Key To Success

As a young professional with social anxiety, it can be daunting to walk into a meeting or give a presentation when I have no idea what anyone else is thinking. Who knows how many times I’ve been in the middle of a pitch, flying blind because I can’t tell if I’ve clinched the sale or gotten myself banned from the premises forever? Or, even worse, totally misread a date? Sure, I’ve seen the books and watched the videos, but that all gets jumbled together in the heat of battle. Thankfully, Libby Seery’s audio course on body language gives me the tools I need in a bite sized package.

With easy-to-remember breakdowns like “The Five C’s of Body Language,” she carefully lays out everything you need to know. Each section tells you exactly what you’re getting, and she covers a wide variety of topics. She starts with the basic building blocks of body language. Then, she works her way up to the specific secrets that we all want to know — how to dress to impress, how to get the girl, how to ace the proposal. Even the parts that don’t seem relevant are useful. I’m not exactly going to apply any of the tips in the “Ladies — Getting What You Want” lesson to my own life, but now I know what to keep in mind when interacting with the opposite sex (and the same goes for women who venture into “Body Language Secrets — Attracting Women”).

Seery uses clear language — with a very pleasing accent — to make the lessons concise and memorable. She draws on the experiences of others, and doesn’t shy away from throwing in little touches of personality. This isn’t a college course. It’s like listening to a knowledgeable friend fill you in on their expertise. And after trying out the tips at a recent meeting, I can say that they worked for me. Hopefully it’ll be as successful with my love life as well.
