Finally getting the excess sugar out of my life!

I enjoyed listening to Lisa’s “12 Day Detox” a ton because it taught me a lot about the foods I should be bringing into my body and the benefits you often have from making those healthier decisions. Usually, I’m not the best at making healthy food choices. For some reason, those sugary and salty treats seem to call my name, and I have no choice but to take a bite. Of course, this bite leads to me eating a lot more than I should and consuming a ton of extra calories that I have no business consuming. Especially with working in a chill, laidback office making the right choices with food can be quite difficult. We have a lot of parties and often my coworkers order in food from the local takeout spot. Sometimes, people just bring in donuts randomly on a day as a sort of “thank you” towards the rest of the office. When things like that are just lying around on an almost weekly basis, it can be very hard to say no.

    This detox gave me concrete reasons why to stay away from these things and move towards a healthier lifestyle. I especially enjoyed the segment about sugar, and it taught me a lot about the substance that I never knew about.

    Did y’all know that sugar was just as addictive as heroin and cocaine? That’s crazy!

    Listening to that section of the podcast, in particular, gave me a much different perspective on the foods that I was eating. It seemed like, for a while, I was letting the food that I was eating run my life. A lot of it was making me feel sluggish and I was accepting it because it tasted good. It even came to the point where I was thinking about it constantly and was having these intense cravings. But, through listening to these podcasts, I realized that there are ways around these cravings and making healthier choices would definitely help me in the long run.
