The other day I raked leaves for my mother, cleaned up her dog’s poop, cleaned the kitchen, and did other things around the house for her. I found myself becoming actively mindful of the actions I was performing, and I completed them that much more thoroughly and lovingly. We do things to the very best of our ability, we smile while we do them, and what’s more, is when practicing mindfulness, we don’t do it expecting something in return. When you begin to do good things for the right reasons and practice mindfulness while doing them, you only welcome more wonderful things into your life experience.
