Changing careers has been challenging for me, Tom’s career leadership helped me get out of my head and find my passion!

The basis of Tom’s course on Career Mastery is to focus for one week, on one of the “13 lessons” that relate to changing your career and finding your dream job. His advice is great for individuals who are unemployed, seeking promotion or looking to change careers and find the next opportunity for them to thrive. My favorite part of this course is how in-depth the explanations are around each individual subject and drive home the importance of investing time and energy on one thing each week.

To me, the greatest transition of the corporate or working world in this generation is what they describe as “YOYO” or “You’re On Your Own”. This is important because in the technology era you have the ability to market yourself in a way that is unique to anything ever experienced in the past. LinkedIn, Google, a personal website, or any other platform can be used to display your personal and professional life. From Facebook to Twitter, all of these media platforms all likely to be viewed by prospective employers who are deciding to pay you for your services.

Think was my favorite lesson. Tom explains how Bill Gates takes a “think-week” every year in order to evaluate the industry and spent time learning and thinking about ways to innovate and continue to grow his organization. This concept is simple: listen to yourself, your intuition, and your mind.

In a world where we are so influenced by other people and our surroundings including; TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Social Media, it is so important to find yourself in order to find your dream job. I often explain this as my personal philosophy, which I take specific time each day, week, month, and year to assess my goals, progress, and evaluate who I am becoming.

Lastly, I recommend using this course to prepare for your career transition. Leverage the concepts in marketing, personal branding, interviewing success, clarity, and more to focus on what is important to your next career move. My Think and Clarity are the most important in my opinion. Clarity will ensure your focus is in the right direction and on the right tasks while Think will ensure you are really listening to your own mind and what is important to you!
