Finding your purpose is easier than it seems

Mindmekka’s purpose and meaning in life lessons are short and to the point, but surprisingly full of helpful insights to guide us to a more fulfilling life. Sometimes on the inside we may have a quiet, subdued sense of what we really want to do in life and what would make us truly happy, but we’re constantly bombarded by the fear. The fear of being alone, of not making rent, the fear of failure (and even of success). Even the fear of what our family, friends, and peers will think can keep us from our true purpose.

It starts simple. When you’re at work all day, what do you daydream about? Daydreams are like breadcrumbs your heart is leaving in the hopes that you’ll follow. But many of us don’t. We go to work and school, we daydream to get through it, then when we get home we binge on shows or video games for more than just fun an relaxation, but to escape our feelings of discontent and misalignment in life.

When we sit and follow our daydreams and really pay attention to them, we start to unlock that potential within us. And what it seems a lot of people realize is that when we embody our purpose, that inspires and helps other people to do the same. Whether you choose to become a coach, a yoga teacher, a painter, an architect, a Youtuber–you shining your light inevitably reaches other people, and makes them want to shine their light too.

Just think about all of the inspiring success stories that were inspired by other people’s success, especially in the face of adversity. (Whoopi Goldberg watching Star Trek and going on to become an actress, and even be in NextGen is a great example)

Another thing is tackling the fear of change. It goes without saying that following your dreams and fulfilling your purpose is going to require a lot of change in your life.

Embrace it, don’t run from it. You’ve had it in you all along.
