How I Built Good Habits to Build Good Habits
I’ve tried dozens of self-help courses. It usually seems like the instructor hasn’t actually done what he’s trying to teach. Bogdan Vaida is different. Proven Habit Hacks comes from personal experience. He uses many real-life examples of how he’s implemented his philosophy of accomplishing a goal. It really helps personalize the experience and make it more tangible.

His secret to getting things done comes down to a simple sequence that’s easy to memorize. Prompt, Activity, Reward. It involves taking small steps every day to achieve what you want. You prompt yourself with a note or other reminder. You do the thing you’ve been prompted to do. You reward yourself with something you want. Over time, the cycle becomes second nature and you create habits that last.
Vaida used this technique to lose weight. I have a little bit of a beer gut myself, so it seemed a logical place to start. The course includes practical exercises you can do yourself. Not aerobic exercises, but mental exercises. Those exercises give you a place to start and help eliminate excuses. I tried his homework and did a little bit each day. I can’t say I look like Arnold Schwarzenegger, but my girlfriend certainly seems happy with the improvement.
He includes a secret challenge as an added incentive. It certainly motivates you to try this out even more. I’m in the process of trying to complete it right now. That external reward means that he takes personal responsibility in your self-improvement. It’s an added layer of value and gives Vaida credibility. He’s willing to put his money where his mouth is.
This course has made my life better. Trying to build good habits in small increments seems intimidating. It’s not. The tricks offered within make it as easy as getting out of bed in the morning. It even has suggestions for how to make getting out of bed easier. That’s the sign of a good course.
