Learn the power of positivity without studying like a monk
I’m a pretty busy person. I enjoy listening to audio courses, and I am always looking for ways to improve my cognitive sharpness, but it is hard to find courses that fit into my schedule. Between work and raising kids, there’s never enough time. The typical self-improvement course takes an hours-long investment of time to complete, and I rarely remember the material in the middle.
Mindmekka’s “Tune Your Mind to Positive Thinking” is the perfect length to listen to during a commute or just a little break in the workday. Each section is short and sweet, getting straight to the point. There are no affirmations or other mental tricks, which may work for some people, but which I have never personally found effective.
One thing that does work with “Tune Your Mind to Positive Thinking” is the use of personal anecdotes to make points about the power of positive thinking. For example, in the Riding the Wave of Momentum section, the speaker uses an anecdote about competing at free throws in basketball. We’ve all felt that keen sense of competition in a situation like that. When he ties it into a self-induced streak of waking early to work on self-improvement, the concept becomes crystal clear.
Each section of “Tune Your Mind to Positive Thinking” has almost the same effect. Without droning on and on about positivity, the speaker draws you in and seems to prove that personal development and positive thinking leads to self-confidence and, in turn, success. I listened straight through the first time, but I can see myself returning to the course for a refresher.
This audio course came along at just the right time for me. I had been feeling as if I was living in a time loop, each day bleeding into the next. I’d lost my passion for my job and, by extension, for life. I see now that I was getting in my own way. I’m determined now to set realistic goals so that stay engaged in work. Time will tell if the results are lasting, but so far so good.
