More than just a bro bible

When I was young, I was a small kid, and I was bullied. It’s tough to admit that now, as a grown man. No one wants to be the one that gets picked on. Those days are long gone now, but sometimes I find myself thinking just like I did back then. I let people walk over me, and I shudder around people sometimes. I was looking for some tips and advice to improve my self-confidence, and I came across David De Las Morenas’ audio course on self-improvement for men. I have to say, I’m pretty impressed.

First off, let me make clear that Morenas lays his philosophy out there in simple terms. His language is plain and his approach is from the alpha male’s perspective. The reasoning behind his ideas is well-thought out and sound, though. Confidence, motivation, positivity and positive living; it’s all here. When he says that it is okay to be materialistic, as long as you don’t let material things rule your life, he does so with the caveat that we can be happy with or without material objects. It’s a practical approach to acceptance, and it works.

When I decided to look for some tools to gain confidence, I wasn’t looking for a guru. Working out and eating right had already changed my appearance, and bullying is now the least of my worries. I wasn’t looking for some “bro” tips on how to pick up women, and admittedly there is a bit of that macho gym mentality here. But Morenas presents his thoughts with the confidence of a personal trainer. He’s not the shirtless guy grunting with every rep so everyone in the gym knows he’s about to max out. I quickly realized that Morenas possesses the kind of seemingly innate confidence that I wish I had, and it comes from embracing positivity.

So, what started out as a quest to gain a little more confidence and stop being so nervous turned into a realization that I had much more room for improvement than I had previously thought. I hadn’t realized that I was letting negativity control me and keep me from being the best version of myself possible. Morenas did not cure me of that negativity, of course, but he gave me plenty to think about. I’m happy I found his audio course. I already feel myself becoming a man of action, and though I accept that doing so may come with regrets, it pales next to the regret of living an unfulfilling life.
