Call me a soccer player because i’m making goals
Goal setting has always been somewhat of a hard time for me. I’m notorious for starting goals or projects and never seeing them to completion. I’ve read a lot of self-help books, spent time watching youtube videos and listening to similar podcasts such as this one in hopes to become better at sticking to a goal. One thing this podcast brought to light is the understanding of your goals. What is that you want? Why do you want it? How badly do you want?
These are all questions posed that I never really asked myself when creating a goal. Likewise, I thought it was interesting that there was so much emphasis on the initial part of creating a specific goal. I really liked that point of view because if you’re not prepared then how can you see something through?
I also really loved the idea of writing things down into lists. Most times when I think too much about things I become stressed out, especially when it comes to my goals and aspirations, so I thought that getting a concrete idea of the picture through writing was a really useful tool to have when creating a goal. Likewise, I enjoyed and was intrigued by the idea of confronting why certain goals haven’t been achieved and being really candidly honest with yourself because if you can’t be honest with yourself, nothing’s ever going to get done!
I also really appreciated the speaker, I felt that his voice had a presence and made me interested as to what he was saying. I definitely felt inspired by his passion when he was speaking, it made me want to start working on my goals immediately!
