There’s more to selling than what meets the eye.
As Ken mentions early on in the course, most people have this warped vision of what a salesperson is supposed to be. I too had that same sleazy vision before the opportunity presented itself for me to essentially become one of them. I was presented with an opportunity to get involved with a friend’s small business, which would have put me in the mindset of a salesperson for the first time ever. At first, I wasn’t looking to be a part of it because I didn’t want to become that sleazy car salesperson in another person’s eyes, but through listening to this course I realized there is so, so much more to successful selling than what meets the eye.
Essentially, I think that many of us have to become salespeople at a certain point. Whether you’re selling a service, a product, or your own skills, at the end of the day you’re still selling something to someone else. If you’re involved (or looking to get involved) in some type of business, then there’s going to be some type of selling involved. That’s why I believe that anybody and everybody can get something out of listening to this course, not just those who are your typical salespeople.
I especially love that Ken talks about selling from an emotional standpoint; it’s more than just trying to flow goods or services from one place to another. It’s really about establishing trust between two people, and I appreciated that mindset about it as a listener.
Throughout the course, I really enjoyed Ken’s delivery. It’s not too fast or slow, and he doesn’t seem to talk over you. It’s the perfect thing to listen to when I’m waking up in the morning and I’m looking to kickstart my day with a burst of inspiration and productivity. It’s not too overpowering, but it definitely gives me the energy to jump start my day and get something done. I would recommend this course for anybody that’s involved in business because if you are, there is definitely loads of good information to receive.
